Best Buy Canada’s Fly More Combo listing confirms three standard batteries, three spare propeller pairs, a shoulder bag, and the DJI ND8/32/128 filter set. Its price was CA$1,429.99 when checked on July 25, 2026.

YepSavings observed the Costco bundle at a regular warehouse price of CA$1,199.99. It also recorded a CA$1,079.99 promotion ending July 13, 2026. That promotion has expired, so it should be treated as price history rather than a current deal.

Is the DJI Mini 5 Pro Costco Bundle Better Value?

The comparison is easier to understand when the missing accessories and extra battery are considered together.

At the regular prices checked, the standard Fly More Combo costs CA$230 more. That higher price gets you the DJI shoulder bag and ND filters, but Costco gives you a fourth standard battery instead.

A single DJI Mini 5 Pro Intelligent Flight Battery was listed at CA$95.99 by Best Buy Canada when checked on July 25, 2026. My DJI Mini 5 Pro Experience in Vancouver

I have now used the DJI Mini 5 Pro in several types of Vancouver environments, from more open areas to the busier downtown waterfront. I have also photographed Vancouver at night, including the lights around Science World and views toward Lions Gate Bridge.

The first thing I noticed was how easy it is to carry. The drone is light enough that adding it to a day out does not feel like carrying another large piece of camera equipment. With a dedicated backpack, I can keep the drone, controller, charging hub, batteries, and cables together without the bag feeling heavy.

It is also quieter than I expected. It is still a drone and should be kept a safe distance from other people, but the sound does not feel as intrusive as that of a larger aircraft.

In open areas, the connection has felt stable. In a busy downtown waterfront environment, however, I experienced a brief reduction in signal strength. Dense buildings and wireless interference may have contributed, so I would not treat the advertised maximum transmission distance as a practical target.

That experience made me more conservative in complicated urban settings: keep the aircraft visible, keep it reasonably close, watch the connection, and leave enough battery to return safely.

The night results have been one of the most enjoyable parts of using the Mini 5 Pro. From the photos I captured, the illuminated Science World area and Vancouver’s night skyline came out better than I initially expected.

Why the Fourth Battery Matters

Battery count has made a bigger difference to my experience than I expected. One battery is enough for a short flight, but time passes quickly when I change locations, wait for the right composition, or try the same shot from another angle.

The fourth Costco battery is not an invitation to fly farther. Its real benefit is that I can finish one safe flight, move to another location, and still have another charged battery available. That gives me more total flying time during one outing without cutting the return margin too closely.

What I Bought Separately: A Backpack and Screen Protector

The Costco package covers the important flying equipment, but it does not list a carrying bag. I originally considered putting everything into a normal backpack. A dedicated DJI Mini 5 Pro backpack or carrying case has been much more convenient.

Each part has its own place, so I do not have batteries, cables, and the controller moving around beside the drone. More importantly, I do not have to worry as much about another item pressing against the camera or gimbal while I am walking. I can pick up one bag and know that the complete kit is inside.

I also added tempered glass to the DJI RC 2. Because the controller has its own built-in screen, a screen protector is a small and inexpensive way to reduce the chance of scratches while it is being carried with cables, batteries, and other accessories.

It does not change the flying experience, but it removes one small thing to worry about every time I pack the controller away.

Other Useful DJI Mini 5 Pro Accessories

The Costco package already includes four batteries, a charging hub, and four spare propeller pairs. I would not make additional batteries, another charging hub, or more propellers the main recommendations. These accessories fill the remaining gaps:

Flying the DJI Mini 5 Pro in Canada

This part is more important than any accessory recommendation.

Transport Canada defines a microdrone as a drone with an operating weight below 250 g. Anything attached to or carried by the aircraft—including filters, propeller guards, lights, or other accessories—counts toward that operating weight.

DJI’s Mini 5 Pro manual notes that actual product weight can vary. Canadian owners should therefore check the delivered aircraft in the exact configuration they intend to fly rather than relying only on the weight printed on a retailer page.

If the operating weight remains below 250 g, Transport Canada does not require drone registration or a drone pilot certificate. That does not mean a microdrone can be flown anywhere.

Before flying, use NAV Drone to:

Check the airspace and nearby airports, heliports, and water aerodromes.
Review relevant geozones and NOTAMs.
Plan the time and area of the flight.
Request airspace permission when the location and operation require it.

Creating a NAV Drone account or scheduling an operation is not blanket permission to fly. Property-owner, park, port, privacy, and other local rules can still apply.

For microdrones, Transport Canada recommends remaining below 400 feet (122 metres), keeping the drone where you can see it, keeping a safe distance from people, staying clear of all aircraft, and avoiding critical infrastructure such as bridges.

Vancouver needs extra care because the city has parks, heliports, a water aerodrome, busy pedestrian areas, and port-controlled property close together. The Port of Vancouver information guide says recreational or hobby UAV use over port lands or waters requires prior permission. The City of Vancouver also has permit requirements that may apply when drones are used for filming on City or park property.

For that reason, this article describes Science World and Lions Gate Bridge as photographic subjects. It does not suggest launching from, flying directly over, or approaching those landmarks without the required airspace and property permissions.
