Which should you buy?
- Best value: Cashmere, Purex and Kirkland all land around $0.21 / 100 sheets — roughly half of Charmin's $0.43. For cheap, reliable toilet paper, any of the three wins.
- Softest: Charmin Ultra Soft is the premium, thicker sheet — you pay about double per sheet for it.
- By region: Ontario warehouses stock Cashmere; Western Canada stocks Purex in this size. Charmin and Kirkland are nationwide.
How Costco toilet paper pricing works
- Sales run in cycles, not permanent markdowns. Each pack returns to Instant Savings every one to two months — the prices above are all at their 6-month low.
- Prices have crept up. Cashmere/Purex $19.99 → $21.49; Charmin $23.99 → $25.99. Today's deal is the recent low, but a higher floor than a couple of years ago.
- Compare price per 100 sheets, not the sticker. A bigger pack at a higher total can still be cheaper per sheet.
- Brands rotate. Charmin and the regional Kruger brand (Cashmere in Ontario, Purex out West) usually alternate months, so there's almost always one premium toilet paper on sale — grab whichever is discounted.
