Costco Cadbury Dairy Milk Oreo Bars Recalled Over Undeclared Pistachio
What Happened
On July 24, 2026, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) issued a Class 1 recall — its highest risk level — for Cadbury Dairy Milk Oreo Candy Bars. Mondelez Canada is voluntarily recalling the bars because they may contain pistachio, which is not declared on the label. According to the CFIA, consuming these products may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in people with a pistachio allergy or sensitivity, and there have been reported reactions associated with the consumption of these products.
At Costco, the affected product is the 12 x 38 g display tray (Costco Item 5605001), sold at Costco Business Centre locations and on CostcoBusinessCentre.ca between February 2026 and July 2026. Recall notices are also posted at Costco warehouses across Canada, and Costco has notified members who purchased the product.
How to Identify the Product
A bar is only affected if it matches all three identifiers: the UPC, one of the recalled lot codes, and a best-before date of 2026 NOV 27 or 2027 JAN 5. Where to find the lot code and best-before date depends on the format:
- 12 x 38 g tray (Costco format): printed on the back of the case
- 38 g individual bar: printed on the underside of the wrapper

What Should You Do
- Do not consume, serve, use, sell or distribute the recalled bars.
- Check the UPC, lot code and best-before date — back of the case for the 12-pack, underside of the wrapper for single bars.
- Return the product to a Costco warehouse for a full refund, or throw it out.
- If you or anyone in your household has a pistachio or tree nut allergy and has consumed the product, contact your healthcare provider.
Mondelez also asks that you pass the recall information along to anyone you may have given these candy bars to.
